I am a writer with experience in daily news reporting, long-form magazine pieces, web content, copywriting, marketing strategy, and a few things in between. I cover consumer tech, privacy, security, and personal finance, though I've also written quite a bit about wellness and home improvement.
I participated in the inaugural (2009) class of Atlantic Media fellows, which led to a job as a reporter covering federal policy at Government Executive. I returned to writing as a freelancer in 2016.
I am an enthusiast of good writing, proper grammar, logograms, color-coded lists, yoga, third-wave coffee, active travel, the outdoors, technical trails, and my dog (Bodie shoutout!).
That homepage image is actually my typewriter — a 1936 Remington Rand Model 1 — which I love even though most of my work lives on the internet. Photo credit to Robert Patterson.
I grew up in Georgia and attended college in North Carolina, but it turns out I'm actually a mountain girl. I now live in Salt Lake City, Utah. Hire me?
